Please remove boost 1.39 from Debian. There are four packages that currently build-depend on boost1.39, but two of them have alternatives with boost1.40. The two that build-depend exclusively on 1.39 are: python-visual and sagemath. I've tried rebuilding each with 1.40: * sagemath builds with a trivial change to debian/control * python-visual fails So removing boost1.39 will cause two FTBFS, one of which is trivially solvable. I've emailed maintainers of the packages in question. -Steve
