Indeed, after installing the octave3.2-info package, the "doc" command was working. However, the "info" subsystem was not working properly and I had to upgrade it (my previous info was 3.12-0.1 and it did not allow me to browse "Linear Algebra" for instance from the top info menu). With info 4.13a.dfsg.1-5, it seems to work. You may want to introduce a proper dependency on info before moving the package to "testing".
