here is my proposal for a default Debian config for functional
q{sh,login,rsh}. Please add

rlogin_daemon /usr/sbin/in.rlogind
rlogin_command /usr/bin/rlogin
rsh_daemon /usr/sbin/in.rshd
rsh_command /usr/bin/rsh
qlogin_daemon /usr/sbin/telnetd
qlogin_command /usr/bin/telnet
----------------------------------------------------
to debian/configuration (source package) to let SGE use the proper
Debian tools.
It might also make sense to add 'inetutils-telnetd' and 'rsh-server' as
suggests of 'gridengine-exec' -- and probably 'rsh-client' and
'inetutils-telnet' as suggests of gridengine-client.
I suspect that most clusters don't use ssh for internal communication
(referring to the above patch), therefore I'd vote for this one as the
default setup. However, it would be nice to include a pointer to the
ssh-based setup as an example in gridengine-common.
