I believe I have the same issue after recent gnome upgrade which uses mutter. When my desktop strts up everytjing is in very strange colors, something is completely unusable (unreadable) and some graphic glitches shows up. I tried to change driver in X from radeon to ati, but ut us the same. Maybe less of graphical glitches but it is hard to say. I'll be happy to provide more information if needed.
