We got the same problem on an LTSP-5 (Lenny) server running 64-bit amd64 Debian
GNU/Linux with Alix LTSP clients (32-bit).
This however happens only with Firefox 3.5.3 and not with Iceweasel.

We've tried to use the lenny (2.10.1-2)), and sid (2.11.6-1) geode xorg driver,
both with the same problem. The client freezes sometimes, and sometimes doesn't.
Firefox (3.5.3) was built using these configure options:
./configure --enable-official-branding --enable-application=browser
--prefix=/opt/firefox-64
This problem doesn't happen with other video cards using Firefox with remote X.
