Victor has applied a hack for this.
Could you fetch thinkfan from
http://people.debian.org/~evgeni/tmp/thinkfan/
and try to start it with -p (Use the pulsing-fan workaround (for older 
Thinkpads). Takes an optional floating-point argument (0 ~ 10s) as 
depulsing duration. Default 0.5s.) to see how it behaves?
