I suspect the boot problems reported in bugs #549287 and #549535 is the same issue as #549298, which was triggered by a change in udev version 146-2. Is the problem still there after the udev change was reverted? If not, I believe the severity of #549287 and #549535 should be reduced to important and merged with #549298.
I'm not sure exactly what change is wanted in mdadm by the udev maintainer, and no tested patch is provided in #549298, so I will not try to fix this in the NMU I am currently preparing to fix #541396.
