Package: kvm Version: 72+dfsg-5~lenny3 Followup-For: Bug #548509 Hi,
The guest kernel runs to 100% CPU and is unusable. I started kvm manually in a screen with following options: kvm -hda /srv/qemu/webserver.img \ -hdb /srv/qemu/customer-data.img \ -hdc /srv/qemu/backup.img \ -net nic,macaddr=52:54:00:12:34:57,script=no \ -net tap,ifname=qtap0,script=no \ 4096 -smp -nographic On the console I got a kernel trace: [9224016167.086095] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [9224016167.086095] WARNING: at kernel/hrtimer.c:546 hrtimer_reprogram+0x47/0x93() [9224016167.086095] Modules linked in: quota_v2 xt_tcpudp iptable_filter ip_tables x_tables ipv6 ext3 jbd snd_pcsp parport_pc psmouse snd_pcm parport serio_raw snd_timer snd soundcore snd_page_alloc button i2c_piix4 i2c_core evdev ext2 mbcache ide_cd_mod cdrom ide_disk ata_generic libata scsi_mod dock piix ide_pci_generic floppy 8139too ide_core 8139cp mii thermal processor fan thermal_sys [last unloaded: scsi_wait_scan] [9224016167.086095] Pid: 2726, comm: exim4 Not tainted 2.6.26-2-amd64 #1 [9224016167.086095] [9224016167.086095] Call Trace: [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff80234a2c>] warn_on_slowpath+0x51/0x7a [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffffa0031cc4>] :ide_core:ide_dma_start+0x25/0x34 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffffa00312cd>] :ide_core:do_rw_taskfile+0x1e5/0x204 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8030a9db>] elv_dispatch_sort+0x21/0x8e [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffffa00cef70>] :ide_disk:ide_do_rw_disk+0x1f2/0x249 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8031a2a9>] __next_cpu+0x19/0x26 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8022961c>] find_busiest_group+0x254/0x6dc [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8024836d>] hrtimer_reprogram+0x47/0x93 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff80248417>] enqueue_hrtimer+0x5e/0xe4 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff80248bf1>] hrtimer_start+0xfd/0x134 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8022f0e8>] hrtick_set+0x9e/0xf7 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff80428e9f>] thread_return+0x6b/0xac [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8024acb6>] getnstimeofday+0x39/0x98 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff804290f6>] schedule_timeout+0x1e/0xad [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff802463a8>] remove_wait_queue+0x12/0x45 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff80246431>] add_wait_queue+0x15/0x44 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff802a777d>] do_select+0x401/0x464 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff802a7a44>] __pollwait+0x0/0xe1 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8022c264>] default_wake_function+0x0/0xe [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8031f83b>] vsnprintf+0x568/0x5b1 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff80276929>] __alloc_pages_internal+0xd6/0x3bf [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8027cb51>] zone_statistics+0x3a/0x8e [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8031f98e>] snprintf+0x44/0x4c [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff802a799c>] core_sys_select+0x1bc/0x264 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff802463a8>] remove_wait_queue+0x12/0x45 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff802375a7>] do_wait+0x968/0x9f8 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff802a7be6>] sys_select+0xc1/0x183 [9224016167.086095] [<ffffffff8020beca>] system_call_after_swapgs+0x8a/0x8f [9224016167.086095] [9224016167.086095] ---[ end trace 74d47b5359da2d53 ]--- What do you suggest me to do?
