Please elaborate more on why you propose these changes.

Debian Policy describes (...somewhere, if I recall correctly) that compilation needs to be verbose. The reason for this is that in case of compilation errors on a build daemon it should be easy from the build logs to try repeat the specific part of the build on a different host.
