Could you please better describe the problem? I am currently unable to
reproduce it. This is what happens on one test machine:

giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ mount | grep /etc
giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/hylafax start
Starting HylaFAX: syncing directories... faxq hfaxd.
giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ mount | grep /etc
/etc/hylafax on /var/spool/hylafax/etc type none (rw,bind)
giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/hylafax start
Not starting HylaFAX daemons since they are already running.
giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ mount | grep /etc
/etc/hylafax on /var/spool/hylafax/etc type none (rw,bind)
giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/hylafax stop
Stopping HylaFAX: faxq hfaxd faxgetty.
giuse...@scarafaggio:~$ mount | grep /etc
giuse...@scarafaggio:~$

Could you please show what happen on your system? what part of the
script fail?

Thanks,
Giuseppe
