I also think so, and expected it to be fixed in the previous point release.

I can report that I applied the provided patch many weeks ago in Lenny
and didn't noticed any problem since.

So please, include the fix at least in the next point release, as it is a
really annoying bug for the users that didn't have hand patched their
system or that will eventualy upgrade from Etch.
