I see that upstream replied that they do not want to implement this. How frustrating!!! What is worse is that the stated motivation is, once again, that one should reboot the *entire* system in order to restart the daemon... I have already explained in my bug report why this suggestion is *unacceptable*. What if all daemons behaved like that? Hurray! One reboot at each package upgrade! \o/ This distribution is called Debian GNU/Linux, not something like Debian GNU/Windows!!! As stated before, it seems that I am not the only user who is shocked when dbus/consolekit/whatever developers say that their daemon should never be restarted until a reboot happens. See for instance: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/consolekit/+bug/231180 http://bugs.debian.org/495257#10 http://bugs.debian.org/495257#56 -- New location for my website!
