I see that upstream replied that they do not want to implement this.

How frustrating!!!
What is worse is that the stated motivation is, once again, that one
should reboot the *entire* system in order to restart the daemon...
I have already explained in my bug report why this suggestion is
*unacceptable*.
What if all daemons behaved like that?
Hurray!  One reboot at each package upgrade!  \o/
This distribution is called Debian GNU/Linux, not something like Debian
GNU/Windows!!!

As stated before, it seems that I am not the only user who is shocked
when dbus/consolekit/whatever developers say that their daemon should
never be restarted until a reboot happens.
