I know, the library transition was held up by the fact that we also
want to introduce MySQL 5.0 into unstable/testing but until this week
it had the same libarary soname version which was a bug. MySQL changed
this now so we know which libraries we will have in the next month and
can start.

The default for mysql-server-4.1 is to use the "old_passwords" option.
Hint: when upgrading dpkg sometimes asks you if you want to install
a maintainer version of a config file. When pressing d you can see the
differences and merge them into your config file by hand.
