I am also affected by this bug. This[0] Ubuntu Forums post suggests a fix, but does not explain the cause. I can confirm that doing what the last post in the thread says does in fact work (recompile ImageMagick with --disable-openmp), but this is obviously not a proper fix. Hopefully it will shed light on what is going on here, however.
