Package: openoffice.org-impress Version: 1:3.1.1-2 Copy and paste of content fails in Openoffice Impress if the KDE utility klipper is running.
I am running a Debian testing system with KDE desktop. The utility klipper is started automatically after opening a KDE session. I have tried to copy content from one presentation to another presentation in Openoffice Impress. Pasting has failed in several cases. After copying the object in one presentation, the menu entry 'edit/paste' remains inactive (grayed out) in the second presentation. Only copying of pure text works. After stopping the klipper utility, copy and paste works as expected for all kinds of objects. When I restart klipper from the command prompt, the problems with copy and paste reoccur. The failure is spurious since often the first copying of a graphical object is successful while any further attempts to copy graphical objects fail. When klipper is started form the command prompt, the following error mesages are dumped to the console. > klipper QClipboard::setData: Cannot set X11 selection owner for PRIMARY QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard::setData: Cannot set X11 selection owner for PRIMARY QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard::setData: Cannot set X11 selection owner for PRIMARY QClipboard::setData: Cannot set X11 selection owner for PRIMARY QClipboard::setData: Cannot set X11 selection owner for CLIPBOARD QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available QClipboard: Cannot transfer data, no data available The 'Cannot set X11 selection owner ...' message occurs when I do a copy in Impress (eg move content to the clipboard). The 'Cannot transfer data, no data available' message occurs when I do a past in Impress (eg retrieve content from the clipboard).
