 The real question for me raised by this is: it may be unneeded in
non-cross compilation scenarios, but does it raise any issues? You don't
have mentioned why you wanted your patch (which looks like it was
applied in the wrong place too, btw. - DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE and
DEB_BUILD_GNU_TYPE are defined just below your addition?) to have
applied and I see no mentioning of the benefit of doing so.
