Given that this results in killing normal input to the computer, something as optional as a note in the NEWS.Debian file is a weak recourse in comparison. But the best fix is to preempt this situation on run-time, even for people with evdev - if the server doesn't see a mouse or a keyboard, but has them in xorg.conf, it has every reason to complain loudly. -- 2.
