First, on the default usage path there's no way to enable image checksumming, as one has to go out of its way to enable the checksumming plugin (sic!). Next, when the plugin is enabled, the only way to use it is to launch md5sum (or whatever) to produce something Brasero calls a "checksum file". Totally inappropriate. Next, when one makes a file containing output of md5sum and feeds it to Brasero, the latter simply packs its things and leaves for a better place: SIGSEGV. To sum it up: as /the/ GNOME burning tool, Brasero leaves a lot to be desired.
