And what are your fb driver? I received a similar error and today,
upgrading my driver to 2.8.1-2 *and* changing my boot command, get my X
works fine.

orig:root=UUID=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx ro vga=792 splash
now :root=UUID=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx ro video=intelfb
Maybe can resolv your problem. Can you try?
