Package: thinkfan Version: 0.5.0.1-1 Severity: normal
To make thinkfan usable on thinkpads, it requires thinkpad_acpi module to be loaded with fan_control=1. Otherwise daemon thinkfan's actions have no effect. I guess it better be mentioned in /etc/defaults/thinkfan, since that is where any user would need to look into while enabling the daemon... Or describe in README.Debian and reference that documention in /etc/defaults/thinkfan. P.S. To provide options to thinkpad_acpi, use options thinkpad_acpi fan_control=1 in file like /etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi.conf Thanks in a advance -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (300, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages thinkfan depends on: ii libc6 2.9-23 GNU C Library: Shared libraries thinkfan recommends no packages. thinkfan suggests no packages. -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
