Package: fetchmail Version: 6.3.9~rc2-7 Severity: minor Hi.
Fetchmail installs an initscript and it complains too loudly to the system administrator when it does not run as a daemon: ,---- | chagas:~# /etc/init.d/fetchmail stop | Pidfile not found! Is fetchmail running? ... failed! | chagas:~# `---- The message above should be printed only if it is configured to run as a daemon. In all other cases, it is explicitly not running and the "failed" message is inappropriate (especially the tone of the message). I could mail a patch, but this is so obvious that it would be a waste. The message emmited by the start action is much more palatable.
