I must admit that kanjipad looks quite weird with this theme for me. The most odd thing are the buttons with Kanji characters on them at the bottom right which look like they are disabled (even when they are not) due to the way the characters are antialiased. However, these buttons should not be affected by the change I did. With my theme the separators between the drawing area and the toolbars have slight 3D look so the drawing area stands out more than with Darklooks. In general it is not obvious that the area is drawable unless you know from the manual or otherwise. This would be still a problem with the original colours and a theme that has white backgrounds, though. Typically applications that allow drawing in a window show hints like axis, position marks or a decoration around the drawing area that somewhat reminds a of leaf of paper (actually more of a pottery or stone slate but that's limitation of pixel graphics I guess).
