Package: bash
Version: 4.0.6

I am really uncertain of who to contact or where to start on this one. The
problem seems to be with the PATH variable, which was, I think, wiped out by
an install script. All of my non-user users (if you know what I mean, i.e.
nobody, root and so on) cannot get at important packages. For example, at
startup, I get "cannot execute /etc/init.d/rcS". So the start up scripts to
launch the console don't work. Then, of course, I cannot launch X11, as it
says that xinit cannot find the files in /etx/X11 and so on. I think that I
am going to have to rebuild permissions and path by hand, but I really,
really meed some help on where to go. If I log in as a user normal console
programmes in /usr/bin and the like still run.

I am using the powerpc version of sid on an ibook. Sorry that I can't
provide more version information. I am using another machine as mine is, as
I say, completely unusable.

Help!
