Package: cups Version: 1.3.11-1+b1 Severity: important In the last 2 months an upgrade of a package in the cups system causes my printer to fail.
The printer is an Epson Stylus Photo RX420 connected with USB, and has been functional for a long while without any problems. Now when I do a printer self-test from the cups web interface the paper is ejected empty and the following error is recorded: 00:00:00 PID 8198 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstopdf) stopped with status 1! 00:00:00 [Job 212] Job stopped due to filter errors. When I try to print a normal job sometimes the printer stops, other times it continues and spits out a *lot* of ink (the page gets soaked). Strange thing it is configured to use the gutenprint driver, no idea why it trys pstopdf. My guess is something in the filter chain got broken, but I don't have a clue where to look.
