Actually, I think it better should be handled direclty by /usr/share/mime/packages/kde.xml. In any case, why you do not submit the definition to share-mime-info upstream and it is shown consistentely in all the desktops? Even if you do not have any of the mentioned programs installed users can know what the file is about.
