So you have to set your whatever sound daemon you use correctly. This can be esound, pulseaudio or maybe jackd. AFAIK there is a soundcontrol module in gnome 's options (gnome-control-center) where you can settle that. > All my video and audio players fail to play sound file or play > movie with out sound.
