Package: bugs.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

I'm tempted to give this severity important, simply because bug overviews
for loads of packages and bug reporters are being unnecessarily polluted
by bug reports that should long have been archived (and thus also still
function as spam traps).

The *only* reason that they are not archived is that madison reports some
ancient version of the package as "current" for hurd-i386/unstable.
hurd-i386 is not in the official unstable archive and thus will there
never be any status change in these bugs.

FTP masters apparently don't see it as a priority to clean up madison;s
databases, so my request is to ignore hurd-i386 for the BTS.

I'm sure you'd make a lot of DDs very happy with this presumably
relatively simple change.

TIA,
FJP

Example 1:
  aptitude | 0.4.11.11-1~lenny1 | stable | source, alpha, etc.
  aptitude | 0.4.10-1 | unstable | hurd-i386

Unarchived bugs: 80-100
Examples: #404761, #449019 (both fixed in 0.4.11.3, 2 years ago)

Example 2:
  rootskel | 1.31 | unstable | hurd-i386
  rootskel | 1.73 | stable | source, etc.
  rootskel | 1.81 | unstable | source, etc.

Example: #257285, fixed in 1.38, which was uploaded 24 Sep 2006!
