Package: scponly Severity: normal The scponly/fullwarning that recently appeared in this package (strangely without mention in debian/changelog....translators just discover it now a debian/po/*.po files have two untranslated strings), is very exactly fitting the definition of Debconf abuse as explained in Developer's reference (http://www.debian.org/doc/developers-reference/best-pkging-practices.html#s6.5.1) and the debconf-devel(7) manpage.
Such warning pertains to NEWS.Debian, eventually, or maybe to the package's description, but not IMHO to a debconf note. In any case, the text of this debconf note should really be reviewed and amended in order to minimize the "shouting" and quite invasive exclamation marks. To translators: these strings just appeared in scponly. I suggest you to wait before rushing out and update your translations as this bug report....suggests dropping the new template. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
