wpa_supplicant simply reacts to events the kernel driver gives it.
wpa_supplicant doesn't look suspicious here at all given this information.
What about wpa_gui?
It's only a frontend to keep easy the managing of wlans. I can close
wpa_gui (it's generally running in systray) the problem happends too. If
the computer is started/restarted, wpa_gui is not launched but
wpa_supplicant is; and the problem also appears.
