By "this behavior" you meant the KDE console wraparound.

Just tried it, it works just like 'konsole'.  Didn't even need to
restart the terminal. Thanks for the tip.

(However the bug still exists -- for users that prefer the default
'gnome-terminal' tab behavior, 'xfce4-terminal' outputs garbage.)
