Recent wordpress versions embed jquery-ui 1.7+. This is fine upstream, because they also embed jquery 1.3+. In Debian, however, jquery.js is replaced with a "shared" jquery.js provided by the libjs-jquery package. According to [1], "jQuery UI 1.7 is only compatible with the latest jQuery 1.3+". To avoid strange things happening in the admin interface (drag and drop broken, "tabs" in some menus inactive), the dependencies should be more strict and wordpress should depend on "libjs-jquery (> = 1.3.3-1)".
