Right, thank you. No reply from the open-iscsi maintainer yet, so no solution in sight. :( Until the open-iscsi script can run before /usr/ is available, I suggest dropping the dependency from multipath-tools-boot to iscsi to break the loop. It will bring the dependency based boot ordering back to the one used with legacy boot ordering. > Note however that multipath-tools-boot will be dropped (#539498). Do multipath only work with linux? For kfreebsd, an udev based solution do not work. Also, if using udev hooks, it might be required to still keep the init.d script as a synchronization point, to make sure later scripts find what they are looking for.
