I'm not sure adding dmidecode as "Recommends" is the right way because all the supported virtualisation technologies supports x86 guests, so dmidecode is *required* to detect *all* the virtualisation technologies on x86 architectures. Other architectures (unsupported by dmidecode) are supported by virtualisation technologies that doesn't need dmidecode to be detected by the guest (except perhaps UML for which I recently introduced support upstream). There is no ideal solution, but I think that's the best one. -- Laurent Léonard
