My previous argument still holds:

BTW, what's the recommended way to reply to a bug report if you don't have any previous emails? Right now I just copy/paste stuff, but that's inconvenient.

I haven't seen any proper reasoning yet.

Today I again had to debug a server with trouble, turned out syn cookies were needed again. The fact the kernel doesn't log any errors when the queue overflows certainly doesn't help.
