Package: kernel-patch-openswan Version: 1:2.2.0-8 Severity: normal I found a minor bug with the patch when snmpd checks the ipsec interface. Something about snmp calling for interfaces and not realizing that ipsec0 is not a real NIC.
It looks like the same bug was reported and fixed at the website located below. http://bugs.xelerance.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000144 I was able to work around this bug by turning off the executable flag on chmod -x /etc/init.d/snmpd Output from kern.log Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 000000ec printing eip: c0223c56 *pde = 00000000 Oops: 0002 CPU: 0 EIP: 0010:[ipsec_tunnel_ioctl+326/576] Not tainted EFLAGS: 00010246 eax: 00000000 ebx: cb975f68 ecx: 00000000 edx: cb975f00 esi: 00000000 edi: cb975f10 ebp: cfbe4c00 esp: cb975ef0 ds: 0018 es: 0018 ss: 0018 Process snmpd (pid: 3959, stackpage=cb975000) Stack: cb975f00 cb975f54 00000001 c1322160 2e0eed76 00000000 00000000 00000000 000089f0 cfbe4c00 cb975f54 bfffdb74 c01c9a8f cfbe4c00 cb975f54 000089f0 cb975f54 cb975f54 00000001 00000000 c01c9d40 cb975f54 000089f0 00000000 Call Trace: [dev_ifsioc+943/1056] [dev_ioctl+576/960] [sock_ioctl+38/48] [sys_ioctl+201/608] [system_call+51/56] Code: ff 0d ec 00 00 00 0f 94 c0 84 c0 75 0a b8 fa ff ff ff e9 fd Kernel logging (proc) stopped.
