Any news on this? Right now, both courier and logcheck have their own ruleset, both apparently actively maintained. This is a needless duplication of work, and it would certainly make sense for one package to take over. The general consensus is that package maintainers are in a better position to maintain their own rules, as long as they can afford the time and effort required.
