If I deactivate this option, I expect that beagled shouldn't do indexing even when the daemon is running. But that isn't the case. With the above mentioned option unchecked, I noticed that beagled still does a lot of read (basically indexing). You can verify that if you enable the block_dump. Since beagled can be a performance hogger at many times, I'd like to set it up in a way that it be used only on a need be basis. Ultimate goal is something like this: * Run beagled all the time because beagle-search needs it to query. But beagled should remain idle i.e. No Indexing. * Have a cron job to run "beagle-build-index" at 2 AM every day when the machine is idle. I think the checkbox option is for what I'm stating in this bug report. But from what I've checked, it doesn't seem to be Not Indexing when beagled is running.
