Package: virtualbox-ose-guest-modules-2.6.30-1-686 Version: 2.6.30+3.0.2-dfsg-3 Severity: normal
I have a lenny (amd64) machine running lenny's virtualbox-ose (1.6.6.-dfsg-3) I track squeeze in one of the VMs (I'm running reportbug in that VM). Today the kernel upgraded to 2.6.30. After reboot the console was blank (and remained text console size; normally it resizes to "X11 size" and gdm appears). However, I can ssh into the machine fine which appears to be functional otherwise. No EE lines in Xorg log. Since I normally run with the guest additions I assumed this needed updating to the new kernel. Nothing in sqeeze yet so I tried installing the 2.6.30 guest additions from sid. But no improvement. Sorry if this isn't a very useful bug report: I don't know if things would work better on a more modern vbox than lenny's, or whether it's actually a kernel or X problem (I should back out the guest additions completely and try that). Seems like something that could potentially cause some other people out there some grief too though. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages virtualbox-ose-guest-modules-2.6.30-1-686 depends on: ii linux-image-2.6.30-1-686 [lin 2.6.30-5 Linux 2.6.30 image on PPro/Celeron virtualbox-ose-guest-modules-2.6.30-1-686 recommends no packages. virtualbox-ose-guest-modules-2.6.30-1-686 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
