Is Kazehakase running on your local machine?  It detects if it's
running and doesn't start a new instance.  I was confused about this
myself a few years ago.

For the GNU/kFreeBSD issue, can you please give it another try?  My
box is down due to hardware problems, so I can't test it myself.  It
certainly worked well, although I haven't tried running it remotely.
