That's no problem!  :)

You guessed!  :-o

$ aptitude search libsdl1.2debian

p   libsdl1.2debian-alsa            - Simple DirectMedia Layer (with X11
p   libsdl1.2debian-arts            - Simple DirectMedia Layer (with X11

p   libsdl1.2debian-nas             - Simple DirectMedia Layer (with X11
i   libsdl1.2debian-oss             - Simple DirectMedia Layer (with X11

Mmmmh, if you mean trying to *use* alsa sound drivers, I'm afraid that
this would imply switching from Linux 2.4.x to 2.6.x (or patch the
2.4.31 I'm currently using).
Am I correct?

If you mean simply issuing 'aptitude install libsdl1.2debian-all' as
root (thus removing the conflicting libsdl1.2debian-oss), it would be an
easy test, I would say (are there any side-effects, assuming I do not
touch the kernel?)
