Hello, I've just installed
$ apt-show-versions audacious-plugins-extra audacious-plugins-extra/unstable uptodate 2.1-1 and cue playing is working fine: it recognize the cue file (but it also adds the .mp3 file, that's not happening with dirs with m3u and mp3) but it's not freezing and all seems fine (like switching between tracks). I suggest to close using the version pseudo-header with the above value.
