Yes, it is. Confirmation comes from that I kill them all, start it from
the command line in the foreground, and I don't get a new shell prompt
back.

It's not. They did have 3.2.1.

I'll look at the .gconf stuff you mention and get back to you!

It's very strange that ekiga 3.2.1 works, and 3.2.5 does not. There were no changes concerning the graphical user interface, except http://git.gnome.org/cgit/ekiga/commit/?h=gnome-2-26&id=d4249e983a13de35bda88a53f45e09e3d21fba6a which seems harmless.

Maybe it is shown outside the screen?
