Thankyou, it terminating with no logfiles seems extremly unusual. I do know that it can be a bit "funny" around the part where it forks and starts up but it consistently starts fine for me.
Also, which version are you running? Your bug report didn't mention it. The latest is 6.0.1dfsg.1-3 but the different between it and the previous version shouldn't make that much a difference. Judging from your email address, my guess is you would be using the Internode broker.
