Package: libesmtp5
Version: 1.0.3-1
Severity: normal

libesmtp5 depends on OpenSSL for its TLS functionality. As libesmtp5 is
LGPLed, this does not pose a license problem as such. It does pose a license
problem for applications under the GPL that use libesmtp5 as there is an
incompatibility between the GPL and the OpenSSL license.

In GnuTLS we have a TLS implementation that is (mostly) LPGL. It would be a
good idea for libesmtp to switch to GnuTLS for its TLS implementation to
prevent licensing issues with GPLed code wishing to use libesmpt.
