I've got the same issue on my 900A, though I've never ever been able to successfully switch the card on with linux > 2.6.26. linux-image-2.6.30-1-686 2.6.30-5 eeepc-acpi-scripts 1.1.1 If I boot with wifi on, it is OK, ath5k loads fine and the wifi works.
