This also happens with XDM: the letters look like the reflection in a lake, and the keyboard stops responding (incl. magic SysReq). Reverting xserver-xorg-video-intel from 2.8.0 to 2.7.1 fixes the problem, as indicated in http://bgoglin.livejournal.com/17951.html I'm going to open a new bug report on xserver-xorg-video-intel, since none of the current ones seems to describe the same problem. :: Ivan Vilata i Balaguer @ Intellectual property is the worst offense @ http://www.selidor.net/ @ against human intelligence. @
