Package: devscripts
Version: 2.10.53
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

afaict there is no way to tell uscan "download the upstream tarball I
need" for the package in the current directory. I want an option to
make uscan look at debian/changelog, figure out the upstream version,
and download it. so if I'm building 0.01-1 but 0.02 is available
upstream, it would still download the 0.01 tarball.

I've looked at creating a patch, tho uscan's code looks a too big for
me to easily parse and change without spending a lot of time.

I have a script which sort of does this by using dpkg-parsechangelog,
trying to apply the dversionmangle (the parsing sucks tho, so it
sometimes doesn't work), and passing it in via in --download-version.

I might try to create a patch for uscan, tho I've been using my script
since before I added my ~/bin/ into gffit (Apr 2), so I don't expect to
get around to it anytime soon.

Cheers,
Ryan
