Doing so seems to work, though I noticed that in version 96.43.11 (the
version I packaged) nvidia introduced hooks into the scripts so as to make
integration into packaging systems easier. I think it is mentioned
somewhere in the changelog, as far as I remember.

Thus I guess the maintainer of this package shall look into it when he does
the next upload -- just my 2 cents.

I will be able to test it in a month only, the machine on which I used
these packages is at work. But I shall test it nonetheless, for what it's
worth.

Thanks for NMUing this new version, as I will not have much access to the
aforementioned machine after that and I did not see myself proposing
packages I could not test :-P
