Hello

Is there any progress with providing vmlinux somewhere?

There was a suggestion to add support for kernel debugging packges into
the kernel build scripts but not turn it on by default so that the large
debug packages are not mirrored from Debian archive.

In my view this is completely pointless because the reason for this report
is that the uncompressed kernel is not provided and there is no way how
the compressed one can be uncompressed. If support for building debug
kernel is included but the package is not build there will still not be
any uncompressed kernel.

It is always possible to build your own kernel and use the vmlinux that
gets built in the process. The problem is that the vmlinux is not
available for the prebuilt kernels so you have to build a new kernel and
reboot, possibly creating a different kernel with different behavior.

Thanks

Michal
