When using cdrskin k3b also experiences this problem, and recently, so it's not fixed. I suspect libburn because of this. It's not the GUI, but the access to the DVD drive that is the problem.
When trying to access the drive with a (relatively) freshly inserted disk, access to the drive hangs, and the drive is unusable until after a reboot (and whatever process was trying to access the drive is hung, although if threaded only the thread trying to access the drive is hung). It only happens once in a while, however. -- And that's my crabbing done for the day.
